Central Mall has implemented new "Family-Friendly Hours @5" on weekend evenings as part of effort our to promote a pleasant shopping environment.
- Youth under the age of 18 who are at Central Mall after 5 PM Friday and Saturday must be under the direct supervision and control of a parent or guardian (21 or older). All parties must also comply with the center?s Behavioral Code of Conduct.
- To qualify as a parent or guardian, a person must be 21 or older.
A parent/guardian must be 21 or older, but need not be a legal guardian of the individual(s). A parent or guardian who appears to be 21 or younger may be asked to provide a valid photo ID. Younger parents (aged 18 to 21) will be allowed to escort their own children. Disabled individuals (over 17) who require assistance may be accompanied by an individual under the age of 18. - A parent or guardian must demonstrate "control" of the individual(s) he or she is escorting.
Control means youth are in compliance with Central Mall's Behavioral Code of Conduct. If an individual is banned from the center, their adult escort may also be banned for the same time frame. A parent/guardian must maintain visual contact with the individual(s) he/she is responsible for escorting. For parents/guardians with visual impairment, "supervision" means the parent/guardian is in such a position that if he/she were not visually impaired, he/she would be in visual contact with the escorted individual(s). A parent/guardian may not be responsible for more than four unrelated youth under the age of 18. Families larger than four may be escorted by a single parent. - A valid photo ID, which includes a state-issued driver's license or ID card, military ID, visa or passport, will be used to determine proof of age.
- Unaccompanied youth unable to prove they are 18 or over will either be directed to a designated waiting area to await transportation or instructed to return home the way they arrived.
- Family-friendly hours are in effect Friday/Saturday from 5 PM until close. Central Mall reserves the right to increase and/or reduce dates and times of restrictions. Special program exemptions will be made for the following:
Youth employment - - Individuals under the age of 18 working in the mall will be granted access without an escort. Proof of employment will be required and he/she must report directly to his/her job and leave upon conclusion of his/her shift, if after 5 PM.
Military recruitment office visitors - - Unescorted youth with the intent of visiting an Armed Forces recruiting office may enter and exit through the South Entrance, if after 5 PM on Friday or Saturday.
Central 12 Theatres - - Moviegoers under 18 (with out an adult parent/guardian present) will not be admitted more than 30 minutes prior to showtime, if after 5 PM on Friday or Saturday. They must remain on the theater premises, and leave immediately after their ticketed feature concludes.
